RenFest Southern Maryland is a two day celebration of medieval madcappery and renaissance revelry, that welcomes all creatures to come and play!  Held over Memorial Day weekend at  Brudergarten Beer Garden in  Leonardtown, Maryland, RenFest Southern Maryland offers three stages of live entertainment, over 40 vendors and exhibitors, a petting zoo, pony rides, and a feast of food options fit for the whole family!

Saturday, May 24th, and Sunday, May 25th, 2025 from 10am-8pm both days

RenFest Southern Maryland is held in the gardens and on the grounds around Brudergarten Beer Garden, 22725 Duke Street in Leonardtown, Maryland, 20650

Adult tickets range from $20 for a one-day ticket to $30 for a two-day Royal Pass.  Tickets for kids under 12 are $15 for one-day, or $20 for a kids two-day Royal Pass, and kids under 5 are free. Advanced tickets are available now on Eventbrite for a small fee, or, once the festival begins,  you can purchase tickets with no additional fee at the gate using cash or credit card.  

This is a rain or shine event, so no refunds will be issued.

There’s plenty of free parking around Leonardtown within walking distance of the festival.  Additionally, the free Leonardtown Trolley runs all weekend.  The trolley offers several stops around town, including at The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) parking lot on Hollywood Road and at Leonardtown Elementary School, where additional free parking is available for the festival.  Check out our parking map for the location of all free parking lots and trolley stops.  There is no parking on site at Brudergarten or Shepherd's Old Field Market for the festival weekend.  Limited handicap parking is available.

Whatever you want!  We encourage all of our guests to get in character and costume for RenFest. This year’s theme is King Arthur’s Camelot, but all creatures and costumes are encouraged to join!  Clothing depicting rude, vulgar and otherwise offensive language or images is not permitted. We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could distract from the experience of other guests.

No weapons, including but not limited to blades, firearms, and explosives, are allowed at RenFest Southern Maryland.  Prop weapons are also prohibited within the festival with the exception of our trained actors or invited professionals for the purposes of entertainment, education, or demonstration only.  Obvious toy weapons are limited based on the discretion of our festival security staff.  Toy weapons permitted include wooden swords, shields, empty quivers and unstrung bows sold at the festival. 

For the safety and comfort of everyone, we ask that attendees do not bring pets with them to RenFest Southern Maryland. Registered service animals are always welcome – if you are bringing a registered service animal to the event, please make sure your animal is clearly marked as a service animal (usually, this means it is wearing the official service animal vest).

RenFest Southern Maryland offers a variety of food and drink options for our guests so please do not bring any outside food with the exception any food required for medical purposes and medically–indicated nutritional supplements, any food required for special dietary needs, and baby food or formula, as long as you’ve brought a real baby with you!  

Several local brews and specialty cocktails will be available along with our usual array of beers and beverages for our guests over 21.  Alcoholic beverages purchased in RenFest Southern Maryland must be consumed on premises. No outside alcohol is permitted inside the festival. All patrons are required to produce valid identification to purchase adult beverages, and no one under the age of 21 will be served. Anyone facilitating underage drinking or smoking will be escorted off the premises immediately without refund and/or turned over to the proper authorities.  Please drink responsibly.

There are plenty of options for overnight stays here in St. Mary’s County.  Among the many local hotels, The Inn at Leonardtown is located in the heart of Historic Leonardtown and is within walking distance of the festival.  Private rentals are also available from AirBnB and VRBO, and there are local campgrounds nearby as well.
